A Dog Person Through & Through

Hi, I’m Jamie! I’ve been walking and caring for dogs in Ottawa for over six years, and honestly it never feels like work. Dogs are my thing — I grew up with them, I’ve studied animal behaviour, and I hold a Pet First Aid certification from St. John Ambulance.

I work with a small, carefully managed roster of clients so every dog gets real attention and care — not just a quick lap around the block. When you trust me with your dog, I take that seriously.

  • Pet First Aid & CPR certified — I’m prepared for anything
  • Fully insured and bonded for your peace of mind
  • Free meet & greet before your first booking — always
  • Small client base so your dog is never just a number
  • Happy to work with nervous, reactive, or senior dogs

“We were nervous because our rescue Daisy is reactive on leash, but Jamie handled her with so much patience and skill. After two months of solo walks she’s a completely different dog. Can’t recommend enough.”

“I travel for work a lot and Jamie’s overnight sitting service has been a lifesaver. Charlie stays in his own home, on his own schedule, and I can see the photos and know he’s happy. Genuinely couldn’t do my job without her.”

Common Questions

Everything you need to know before booking

Do you do a meet and greet first?

Yes, always. Before any paid booking I come to your home for a free meet & greet so your dog can get comfortable with me and I can learn their routine, quirks, and any special needs.

How do I get my key back if I cancel?

Your key is always yours. I use a lockbox at your home or a coded key safe — I never take your key offsite. You have full control over access at all times.

What if my dog has special needs or is reactive?

I’m experienced with reactive, anxious, and senior dogs. We’ll discuss everything at the meet & greet and I’ll only take on your dog if I’m confident I can handle their specific needs safely.

What happens in bad weather?

We walk rain or shine — your dog still needs to go out! In extreme weather (ice storms, extreme cold warnings) we may shorten walks or do indoor playtime and keep you updated.

Are you insured?

Yes. I carry full professional liability insurance and am bonded. I also hold a current Pet First Aid & CPR certification from St. John Ambulance so I’m prepared for any situation.

How far in advance do I need to book?

For regular scheduled walks, 48 hours’ notice is appreciated. For occasional or one-off bookings, try to give at least a few days where possible, though I’ll always do my best for last-minute needs.
